Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
In short: the Map Studio runs in your browser. The locations, names and files you add are not uploaded to our servers. We do not use accounts, advertising or tracking cookies.
What stays on your device
Your markers, settings and any imported files are processed locally in your browser. We keep a few small items in your browser storage so the site works properly, such as a counter that limits downloads per hour and a flag that the intro animation has played. You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Services your browser contacts
- Esri (ArcGIS Location Platform) delivers the map images. Your browser sends Esri your IP address and the address of our site with each map request. See Esri's privacy statement.
- Photon (Komoot) and Nominatim (OpenStreetMap Foundation) are contacted only when you search for a city. The text you type is sent to them.
- jsDelivr and unpkg deliver the country outline file, and cdnjs (Cloudflare) delivers the Leaflet map library and, only if you import an Excel file, the spreadsheet reader.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and, like any host, processes request data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Cookies and analytics
We do not set cookies and do not run analytics at this time. If that changes, we will update this page first.
Children
PinCountryMap is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13.
Your choices
Because we do not collect personal data through the studio, there is usually nothing to delete. If you have a question or a request about your data, contact us at pincountrymap [at] gmail [dot] com.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
